A Rockaway Beach, NYC local wanted to size down while still keeping ridability. I worked out a shape that hides volume where it’s needed and takes it out where it’s not. The flat deck holds thickness to the rails and has a flat rocker for down the line style riding. A hip in the tail section helps compensate for the extra overall thickness and width, as well as, adds more of a pivot point to the board.
“I wanted to thank you…..that was by far the most detail anyone has put into finding out what I wanted out of a board.”
Forget that chippy shortboard. With a bit more volume and width, Malwitz shortboards cater to everyday surfers. The added paddling power and drive adds up to more waves without loosing performance. Shortboards come in sizes 5’5 – 6’10. They can be made with various rockers, noses, tails, and wings to customize the type of ride you’re looking for.
