Willy And His Simmons.

“I’m in love with it! It’s the most beautiful  surfboard I’ve ever had!” – Willy Willy was surprised with a custom board for his birthday. A group of his friends let him work with me to make something he really wanted. We narrowed down to a Quad Simmons and this wonderful color combination.  After he picked it up, Willy sent me a ton of photos. He seems pretty happy to me and so does the board (See last photo). Thanks Willy it was a pleasure! You’ve got a great group of friends.

SYOB (Shape Your Own Board) + Adam

The fact that Adam didn’t sleep the night before because of a tree falling on his mom’s house did not stop him. He rolled in and banged out a fun looking Dharma inspired quad. SYOB has spaces open through the summer / fall. See more info here: www.malwitzsurfboards.com/syob

6′ Quad Fish For Justin

Word of mouth is the best free advertising. This order was a referral from a previous board. 6′ Quad Fish with a seafoam teal resin tint and gloss glassing. Thanks Justin!

7’2 Pinched Nose Egg for Andrew.

Hey look! A clear white board! No way! Andrew asked for something easy to paddle, catch waves, duck dive, but still be able to throw it around in waves. We narrowed down to a 2+1 Egg base with a pulled in nose and a tad extra rocker for steeper drops. I handed it off to him last Saturday and he was psyched! It was great to meet you Andrew. Let me know how it goes. Thanks!!

8’8 Geo Mini for Jeff

Jeff was able to revive that Geometry course I had in college. He asked for a two color resin tint and 9 color hand painted nose deck that hurt my brain, but was well worth it. Concave nose and belly bottom ready to cruise. Thanks Jeff. Your patience on this one was insanity. Enjoy!

6’6 Stubby for Gabri (Rome,Italy)

From 1-10, Stoke Factor on this one is easily 20. Gabri wrote me from Rome, Italy in 2010. Well over 100 emails and three years later, we finally got it all worked out. Last weekend  on his family trip to NYC, my family got to meet his in Soho. Seeing his excitement was pretty awesome. In fact, I’m gonna change the stoke factor to 30. We worked out a clean sanded, slightly mixed up displacement hull with modern rails and shortboard-ish mid and tail bottom with a 2+1. While we were talking, he asked about board #2 which sounds good to me. Enjoy Gabri! Hope it works well for you.
